Fed: Australian man held in Thailand over immigration problem
CANBERRA, April 26 AAP - A 47-year-old Australian man has been arrested in Thailand
over an alleged immigration-related matter.
A spokeswoman for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade said the NSW man was
detained by police in Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand, last Friday.
"Police have advised that the man has been detained on an immigration-related matter," she said.
"The Australian Embassy in Bangkok will provide consular assistance as required."
Comment was being sought from the Australian Federal Police.
